Qualification:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required.
- At least 2 years of experience in a related field is required.
Job Responsibility:
- Provide technical expertise necessary to monitor all processes in the By Products area.
- Initiate necessary process changes and measure effectiveness.
- Act as liaison between By Products Operations, Maintenance and Battery Operations.
- Review daily Chem Lab results and recommend changes or adjustments to the processes.
- Assist with plant shutdowns (outages) which will include Contractor Walk throughs, Lockout and obtaining associated permits (Hot Work, Confined Space, Excavation, etc.).
- Review Monthly Equipment Inspection Reports (Flare Stack, Mill Water, and Vibration Analysis).
- Order spare parts and manage spares inventory for By Products, Chem and Coke Labs.
- Manage the Process Safety Management (PSM) program for the Coke Plant. This will include performing internal audits with AK Safety and Environmental groups along with arranging third party audits.
- Initiate all By Products related RES (Request for Engineering Service) and coordinate project activities with Middletown Works Engineering.
- Develop, implement, and track the results of Continuous Improvement projects.
- Participate in the review process for Operating (QSOP) and Safety (JSHA) procedures.
