Education & Experience
3-4 years of equivalent work experience in related discipline or Associate’s Degree with 1-2 years of experience
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Self-motivated with minimum supervision to seek out opportunities to improve business performance
- Communicates well with peers, engineers, and management about issues/problems that arise
- Previous measurement equipment experience (Keyence, Optiv, or similar) and lead Test Method Development
- Able to interpret part drawings for test method development
- Follow Quality System for process change analysis, test method development, and equipment qualification
- Manufacturing background
- Mechanical troubleshooting
- Measurement equipment knowledge. Prior measurement experience preferred but not required.
- Equipment qualification of Class C & D equipment
Job Responsibility:
Support multiple engineering projects through Test Method routine development on Keyence and PC DMIS programming (Optiv/CMM), measurement services, and documentation in a metrology lab environment.
- Work closely with Manufacturing Engineers to design fixtures, tooling, and equipment to address Lean Manufacturing related issues as well as quality and ergonomic issues.
- Read and understand product drawings in order to development test methods for part validations and production-ready test methods.
- Provide day-to-day manufacturing support, evaluating/addressing production concerns/problems through troubleshooting the measurement of components, tooling, fixtures, and equipment.
- Implement productivity improvement projects resulting in improved manufacturing yields/efficiencies. Perform various test functions on devices/equipment and provide meaningful analysis/interpretation of data.
- Applies thorough knowledge of advanced technical concepts and practices and has a complete understanding of production or system fundamentals in a measurement lab and functional area. Shows working knowledge of other related disciplines.
- Performs mostly non-routine technical assignments requiring basic interpretation of established procedures. Assists in the design, development, evaluation or modification of all area-specific equipment, materials, systems, and/or product. Assignments require broad judgment in troubleshooting proven processes as well as the ability to suggest alternatives.
- Limited supervision. Receives no appreciable instruction on routine work and general instructions on new assignments.
- Must be able to comply with requirements of requirements of ISO 14001 and BSC Environmental, Health and Safety standards and follow procedures and instructions related to these standards.
