Education & Experience
B.S. in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or closely related field is required. Industrial and/or academic research experience is desired.
- Hands-on experience with building and troubleshooting equipment Ability and motivation to work independently once work plans have been established
- Ability to develop and resolve solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity
- Ability to carefully collect, organize, and analyze data using Microsoft Excel and/or other data analysis/graphing programs Strong communication, technical writing and oral presentational skills
Job Responsibility:
Maintain and operate lab equipment
- As required, modify existing or build new equipment to meet deliverables
- Participate in the design and assume responsibility for execution of laboratory experiments
- Identify and articulate problems as well as develop and execute approaches to solving them
- Submit samples for various characterization methods and collate/organize data
- Function as a team member on R&D projects
- Make technical presentations to project teams and management
