JOB DESCRIPTION:

Qualification:

Education & Experience

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or related field

  2. Experience in a wet chemistry lab
  3. Participates in available Technical Advising role networks to improve personal effectiveness and leveraging of best practices.
  4. Maintains “on call” status for plant unplanned events, emergencies and advising.
  5. Owns and coaches others on the effective use of logbook, focusing on quality of information entered and appropriate note type/stamp utilization.
  6. Fulfill the role of Turnaround Manager to ensure the plant is ready to perform maintenance as required and then starts up smoothly after maintenance RTO.
  7. Demonstrates excellent decision making skills, ability to prioritize appropriately
  8. Engage in turnaround scope definition, preparation and execution.
  9. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  10. Good interpersonal skills are required.
  11. Must have strong multi-tasking, problem solving and time management skills.
  12. Demonstrate leadership skills - inspire others and lead them through influence.
  13. A self-starter who can identify, prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks.
  14. Must be able to read, write, and speak English.


Job Responsibility:

  1. Manages and then safely executes laboratory work requests, maintaining and running relevant laboratory apparatus and testing equipment.

  2. Develops experimental plans in partnership with Lead Scientist or Technology Leader and executes plans by performing routine and non-standard tasks or procedures of higher complexity.
  3. Documents work in ELN and reports, as appropriate.
  4. Equipment ownership and maintenance including calibration and routine maintenance, development of new experimental procedures
  5. Full participation in safety program including adherence to all safety procedures, engagement at safety meetings, and contribution to and knowledge of MOC process.
  6. Achieves project goals using technical, role-specific skills and experience.
  7. Develops a specific expertise within the department and laboratory work group in specific procedures, equipment, or instruments.
  8. Updates personal knowledge for proper use of equipment via manuals and job aids, logs maintenance activities and calibration results as required.
  9. Communicates scientific observations to project team or principle investigator and organizes and prepares data tables and charts for inclusion in supported studies
