JOB DESCRIPTION:

Qualification:

Education & Experience

  1. Position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited institution and 2 years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.

  2. Working knowledge of governmental or commercial quality assurance standards
  3. Demonstrated knowledge or experience working in a manufacturing or production organization requiring implementation of defined manufacturing and quality requirements
  4. Demonstrated knowledge and experience with system or subsystem qualification testing and analysis
  5. Ensuring safety and security compliance, maintaining required training, adhering to laboratory policies, programs, procedures and practices.
  6. Responsibility for the fabrication, inspection, and testing of War Reserve and experimental detonator components and subcomponents.
  7. Collaboration with Process Engineers, other Manufacturing Engineers, Quality Engineers, and Production Technicians to develop solutions to complex problems, design and implement new technologies, improve production cycle times, and maximize production yield rates.
  8. Coordinating equipment maintenance and repair services to ensure production equipment is operating within required guidelines and specifications.
  9. Conducting post-disassembly inspections and analyses on nuclear weapon stockpile assets.
  10. Completely and continually document manufacturing processes through thorough design evaluations as well as feedback from the manufacturing group.
  11. Existing or reinstateable DOE “Q” clearance (or similar)

Job Responsibility:

  1. The primary work scope will be in support of detonator manufacturing for the Engineering Group (DP-ENG), who is responsible for the fabrication, inspection, testing, and surveillance of War Reserve and experimental detonators and subcomponents.

  2. You will provide technical support as the manufacturing engineer supporting detonator manufacturing processes.
  3. You will be expected to develop solutions to process problems, identify and implement new technologies, improve production cycle times, and maximize production yield rates as related to detonator manufacturing as well as maintaining the quality and safety bases for their process area.
