Education:
Bachelor’s
degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or Computer Science.
Masters preferred.
Experience:
- Expertise in mechanical design and computer modeling and design software
- Experience prototyping, development of benchtop models and device testing and validation with 3D printing experience a plus.
Job Responsibility:
Conceptualize, design and develop new medical devices and technologies including surgical and catheter devices, 3D modeling and simulation techniques in collaboration with team
- Design and conduct benchtop experiments to complement and/or refine designs and validate computational modeling studies as part of the development process.
- Work with cardiologists, cardiovascular surgeons, and nurses to obtain patient information, understand clinical need, refine the design and apply the new technologies.
- Collaborate with lab staff, clinicians, and statisticians to design experiments and write protocols.
- Perform statistical analysis of experimental results.
- Prepare oral and written reports for presentation locally and at technical conferences and for publication in scholarly journals.
- Document inventions and research and assist with preparation of intellectual property filings.
