Qualification:

Education & Experience

  1. Relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources or Industrial Relations

  2. Proven experience as an Assistant HR Manager, Officer or Coordinator (minimum 2 years)
  3. Knowledge of HR functions (pay & benefits, recruitment, training & development etc.)
  4. Understanding of labour laws and disciplinary procedures
  5. Strong administration skills
  6. Outstanding organizational and time-management abilities
  7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  8. Problem-solving and decision-making aptitude
  9. Strong ethics and reliability
  10. Understand and respect high level of confidentiality
  11. Ability to manage conflicting demands and prioritize tasks
  12. Have good English communication skills both in written and spoken
  13. Strong interpersonal, communication, organisational and problem solving skills.
  14. Competent with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Social Media applications and software packages
  15. Organised with strong planning, good communication and interpersonal skills
  16. Ability to work under pressure with a ‘Can Do’ attitude and a high level of energy


Job Responsibility:

  1. Run the day to day operation of the Human Resources department

  2. Maintain the HR systems including Talent Management and the internal Talent database.
  3. Assist new Talent with all documentation required for commencement, ensuring all forms are completed accurately and a copy of identification and qualifications collected prior to forwarding to Payroll.
  4. Responsible for keeping the heart of house on brand and ensuring noticeboards are compliant with brand standards as well as regularly updating posters to keep Talent informed of property and Company information.
  5. Assist with the preparation and facilitation of training programs, including Orientation and other generic programs
  6. Assist in counselling staff where necessary
  7. Oversee recruitment advertising, including Marriott Careers and external sites, in a timely and accurate fashion with current vacancies
  8. Create and implement effective onboarding plans
  9. Assist in performance management processes
  10. Embrace Social Media applications and trends to drive the Aloft vibe across the hotel
  11. Support the management of disciplinary and grievance issues as required, reviewing all disciplinary actions to ensure applicable laws and procedures are followed
  12. Champion Marriott's Take Care philosophy across the hotel and other Marriott Perth hotels.
