Education & Experience

  1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.

  2. 3 - 6 years’ experience as individual contributor in product design and development.
  3. Proven track record of creativity and innovation.
  4. Demonstrated experience of participating in a cross functional project environment and independently.
  5. Exceptional organizational skills, aggressive drive for performance, and extremely high levels of personal accountability are required.
  6. Experience with plastic and metal materials, processing, fabricating is strongly desired.
  7. Expertise in CAD systems preferably Creo, SolidWorks, as well as FEA (structural &/or mold flow).
  8. Evidence of taking initiative on projects.
  9. Evidence of strong problem-solving skills including identify problems, potential problems, and developing solutions.
  10. Excellent communication, interpersonal, writing, planning, and presentation skills.
  11. Experience in working with suppliers/partners on new technologies.
  12. Develop a strong understanding existing product operating systems, including competitive analyses.
  13. Flexibility to travel with business needs to work with domestic and international partners.


Job Responsibility:

  1. Product Engineer will lead or assist in developing new products specifications from industrial design concepts using computer-aided design (preferably Creo). Product specification includes final engineering models/drawings, bill of materials, material specification, design verification, performance specification (DVP&R) and support through production start.

  2. Ensure new products meet fit, function (performance), and quality requirement within cost and timing objectives. This includes leading design for manufacturability, DFMEA, statistical stack-up analysis, and DVP&R, as well as supporting Control Plans and DOE.
  3. Support development and evaluation of finite element models for manufacturing and structural analysis.
  4. Lead engineer optimizing product designs for mechanical function (e.g., fit, function, interference, tolerance stack ups, nesting, etc), manufacturability, packaging, and material handling.
  5. Generate product prototypes and perform product testing for internal evaluation as well as for customer and consumer testing/feedback.
  6. Develop and evaluate cost analysis for new and modified product concepts from design through production launch to maximize product value and competitiveness.
  7. Understand and apply federal, industry and internal standards and ensure products meet safety, compliance, and performance requirements.
  8. Identification and creation of test methods and specifications for new and existing products to validate and problem-solve performance issues.
  9. Supports tooling development and pre-production sample builds.
  10. Organize and lead DOE trials at the suppliers and at plants including working with plants to establish manufacturing procedures.
  11. Collaborate with the cross-functional team to identify and correct cost of failure issues and address productivity and quality initiatives.
  12. Lead or supporting engineer in technical and financial evaluation of competitive product.
  13. Interface and collaboration with cross functional team including Marketing, Industrial Design, Engineering, Sourcing, Manufacturing, Quality and Finance.
