Job Position: Biogas Plant Relief Operator 


JOB DESCRIPTION:

Qualification:

Education & Experience

  1. Knowledge of general safety protocols/procedures, such as lock-out-tag-out and tools, materials, and equipment used in the operating, maintaining, and repairing of all equipment.

  2. Basic knowledge of pump and compressor operations, SCADA and PLC systems, and CMMS work order completion.
  3. Familiarity with construction plans
  4. Ability and aptitude to interpret and understand plans and specifications
  5. Exhibits initiative, responsibility, flexibility and leadership
  6. Team oriented and ability to get along with others
  7. Good math skills (ability to: add, subtract, multiply, divide)
  8. Knowledge in MS Office and technical software
  9. Ability to pass safety and certification classes (including First Aid and CPR) and exhibit safety oriented mentality
  10. Effectively communicate with managers, engineers, craft workers and contract personnel. 
  11. Strong organizational skills
  12. Ability to embrace new technologies and processes
  13. High school diploma or equivalent required. 2-year technical degree preferred.
  14. 0-2 years experience. General understanding of safety and environmental permits, policies, and procedures.  Plant experience preferred


Job Responsibility:

  1. Has the ability to read, write, and comprehend procedures, instructions, and equipment O and M manuals.

  2. Mechanical aptitude with ability to make minor equipment repairs.
  3. Understands and uses process principles, computers (SCADA, PLC, Monitoring, Historical), operate pumps, compressors, valves, and equipment.
  4. Ability to collect samples and conduct lab analysis.
  5. Develops the skills of interpreting any needed corrective actions within eight weeks of date of hire and demonstrates the ability to document results clearly, completely and concisely.
  6. Records and understands meter/gauge readings and test results accurately and determine actions to be taken.
  7. Identify areas for improvement and seeks creative solutions.
  8. Ability to apply reasoning and judgment in diagnosing mechanical faults and troubleshooting process issues
