Qualification:

Education & Experience

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Supply Chain Management or in an analytical discipline or equivalent experience

  2. One year of IT or business systems support experience
  3. Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  4. Basic skills in Publix Warehouse Management and/or Transportation Management systems
  5. Basic skills in Database Management Systems (DB2, Informix, Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata, Cloud, and ODBC Connectivity)
  6. Knowledge of mathematics and statistical data analysis
  7. Leadership skills
  8. Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  9. Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  10. Good organizational and time management skills
  11. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  12. Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality
  13. Ability to work independently, be a self-starter and demonstrate a high degree of self-motivation, commitment and integrity
  14. Ability to learn and retain new, complex ideas or concepts
  15. Ability to train users
  16. Willingness to work a variable schedule including nights, holidays and weekends to meet Industrial Operations’ business needs. Requires the ability to be on-call 24 hours per day/7 days per week and the ability to travel by air (commercial and company airplane) with overnight stays
  17. Three years of Industrial Operations systems experience or experience working closely with or supporting Industrial Operations systems
  18. Two years of experience supporting IT systems at Publix
  19. Advanced skills in Database Management Systems (DB2, Informix, Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata, Cloud, and ODBC Connectivity) with a focus on industrial operations or distribution specific data sources
  20. Good knowledge of Industrial Operations’ business systems and processes for assigned areas
  21. Knowledge of supply chain business systems and processes that interface with their assigned Industrial Operations systems and processes
  22. Knowledge of Industrial Operations strategy, business initiatives and plans for supported areas
  23. Strong technical knowledge of supported applications and reporting tools
  24. Knowledge of Industrial Operations and assigned system standards and policies that must be upheld
  25. Good knowledge of personal computer, printer, network configuration (Local Area Network and Wi-Fi), terminology, and architecture
  26. Knowledge of Systems Development Life Cycle and Project Management best practices
  27. Strong knowledge of Publix Information Technology policies and processes such as software licensing policies, information protection policy, hardware and software (HW/SW) assessment, access, and HW/SW request process
  28. Knowledge of business relationships between various departments, department structures and high-level knowledge of Industrial Operations’ impact on Publix Retail and Support departments
  29. Knowledge of Publix policies and guidelines
  30. Excellent knowledge of Industrial Operations safety rules and practices, including applicable Plant Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
  31. Good knowledge of relevant industry and regulatory standards and regulations (currently our operations are regulated by Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Food & Drug Administration (FDA), Florida Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services (FDACS), and Georgia Department of Agriculture, Department of Transportation (DOT) as well as Kosher and organic certifying organizations.)
  32. Broad knowledge of annual capital budgeting process
  33. Knowledge of application development
  34. Good facilitation skills
  35. Ability to assess new technologies
  36. Ability to analyze, design, and develop business processes or applications
  37. Intermediate skills in Microsoft Access
  38. Intermediate skills with ordering and item managements systems (PIMS, CHIP, Marwood, A/R, RSM)
  39. Expert skills in Mobile Computer Management Systems (Voice Console, Blue Zone, Wavelink, Avalance, Ivanti, Barcode Active X)
  40. Advanced skills in Systems Administration Systems (Bomgar, CyberArk, Request Center, SCCM)
  41. Advanced skills in Microsoft Outlook, Skype and SharePoint
  42. Advanced skills with Distribution business developed systems (Warehouse Utilization, Slotting Optimization, Detention Tracking, Labor Scheduling, Pallet Quality)


Job Responsibility:

  1. Supporting system solutions for assigned Industrial Operations IT systems

  2. Supporting users, hardware, software and the IT infrastructure in various distribution business areas
  3. Performing analysis of business processes, designing new and improved system solutions, and delivering those solutions in support of Industrial Operations business areas
  4. Participating in planning and prioritizing projects and support efforts within Industrial Operations scope of support, and
  5. Providing technical knowledge and education for assigned systems to Industrial Operations IT team and technical operations team members, as well as maintaining current operational and technical knowledge
